Skills and Tips
• The thickness of scratchinglines could be various by the anglebetween blade and scratchboard, small angle for bold lines, big angle for thinner lines;
• Scratchboard can smudge because of natural oils and perspiration that's on skin. When you work on a scratchboard you can rest your hand on a piece of tissue. (Do not use scented tissue or tissue treated with aloe or lotion).
• Wipe the debris on the picture periodically with soft tissue or small brush. If you blow away the debris it gets in your eyes and attack your sinuses, wiping is strong recommended;
• In order to avoid scratching through white clay layer to the base layer,please do not scrape too much on white clay layer(the thickness of white clay layer is approx0.3mm).
• If you make a mistake scrathing, you can use following tools to put that layer of ink back on:acrylic paint, India ink, crayon or alcohol based ink marker...
• Mistake correction for scratching through white clay layer to the base: Use white acrylic paint, white correction pen or white crayon for fixing the mistakes.
