6. Do I need an air pump? |
|
Each inflatable form has a small, plunger type inflation valve with an internal lock valve. Smaller forms (toddler, child, panty, brief) can easily be inflated by mouth. Larger forms may require a pump due to the volume of air required to fill them. If you have an air mattress pump with a small, pointed, narrow nozzle or a bicycle tire pump with cone shaped, narrow nozzle or a ball needle, these may be used to fill your inflatable mannequin with air. Use of compressed air is NOT recommended, as it is easy to overfill the form and cause it to rupture.
We offer a variety of low pressure air pumps that work well with inflatable mannequins. These include a small plastic foot pump (recommended only if you have one item), quality bellows foot pumps, battery, electric, AC/DC, and rechargable air pumps. All include three nozzles so they can be used for inflation of inflatable mannequins as well as many other inflatable items (rafts, mattresses, beach balls, etc.). |

7. Can I hang an inflatable mannequin? |
Each form, with the exception of those with heads, has a plastic hanging loop on top. Fishing line, wire, string, etc. may be used to hang the forms from the ceiling, a pole, a tree or any structure. The hanging loop has weight limitations and may fail if used with heavy clothing. Alternatively, string can be tried to the neck area or around other areas of the form to hang it as well.(Figure 1) |
Torso forms are designed to stand on their own; however for added stability, a tabletop stand is very effective and an upright stand provides for the display of slacks, dresses, shorts, etc. (Figure 2)
3/4 forms are designed to stand on their own; however for added stability, a tabletop stand is very effective. Use of tabletop stand TTS2 is strongly recommended, as these forms are easily knocked over when standing on their own. Use of an upright stand is NOT recommended with a 3/4 form as they tend to tilt to one side. (Figure 3 and 4)
manikin2Full-size forms do not stand on their own. They can be used in a variety of positions and supported in many ways; however, most models come with a "pocket" in the back which is designed to work with the item TT01 with longer pole - these stands are light weight and may not support a full-size form without additional weight being applied to the base.
Leg forms do not stand on their own. They can be used in a variety of positions and supported in many ways. They do not come with any way to attach them to a stand; however, they can be taped or strapped to a stand if desired. |
|
9. How does the stand attach to the form? |
Torso forms* have two stand receivers in the base of the form, one in the centered position for use with shirts, jackets, dresses, etc. and one offset to the side for use with pants or shorts. The stand is inserted through the pant or short leg and then attached to the offset receiver.
*Note: Toddler forms have one stand receiver - center position only.
3/4 Forms have one stand receiver in one of the legs. This form is best used with tabletop stand TTS2. If used with an elevated stand, it is necessary to support the leg opposite the leg attached to the stand, otherwise the form will tilt.
Full-Size Forms have a "pocket" in the back of the form to support the form when using a 36" stand and stand adapter. The stand adapter is included when ordering a full-size form and a stand at the same time. |

10. Can I steam clothing on the forms? |
|
In testing and customer reports, the forms are easily deformed or ruptured when hot steam is applied to apparel displayed on top of the forms. Use of a steamer is NOT recommended and will void the warranty. |
